Question 802682: A line passes through the points (-1, -6) and (-4, 3). What is the equation of this line in slope-intercept form?
Answer by Cromlix(4381)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Slope (m) = y2 - y1/x2 - x1
Slope (m) = 3 - (-6)/-4 - (-1)
Slope (m) = 9/-3 = -3
Using the equation y = mx + c
with m = - 3
and coordinates (-4, 3)
y = mx + c
3 = -3(-4) + c
c = 3 - 12
c = -9
y = -3x - 9
Hope this helps.
