Hi there, what the questions is asking you to do is sub values less then 11 into the equation to prove it gives a value less then 38..
x = 0, 3(0) + 5 = 5
x = 1, 3(1) + 5 = 8
x = 2, 3(2) + 5 = 11
x = 3, 3(3) + 5 = 14
x = 4, 3(4) + 5 = 17
x = 5, 3(5) + 5 = 20
x = 6, 3(6) + 5 = 23
x = 7, 3(7) + 5 = 26
x = 8, 3(8) + 5 = 29
x = 9, 3(9) + 5 = 32
x = 10, 3(10) + 5 = 35
x = 11, 3(11) + 5 = 38
not sure if needed, but you should see as you use any number in the sequence the next value given will be increased by 3.
hope this helps
