the marks on the left of 2/3x is an absolute value sign. The mark on the right of 1 is as well. I hope that is clear enough. Thanks again!

so we have to check both possibilities:
Checking that it is positive you get:
(2/3)x-1>5
(2/3)x>6
x>9

Checking that it is negative:
-((2/3)x-1)>5
(2/3)x-1<-5
(2/3)x<-4
x<-6
-------------
Solution:
x<-6 or x>9
