Question 544157: Please help me understand this. Not sure about absolute value. Thanks!
|-4x + 4| = 2

Answer by friesr(113)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
you have two possible solutions inside the abs brackets. -4x+4= 2 and -4x+4 = -2. That is because the abs will remove the negative sign from the -2 making it just 2.
---
-4x=2
x= -1/2
---
-4x+4=-2
-4x = -6
x=6/4
---
So x = -1/2 or 3/2
