Question 542450: What are the four real values of x for which | (2 - | x |) | = 1?
Answer by Theo(13342)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the 4 values are:
x = +/- 1
x = +/- 3

when x = +/- 1,|2 - |x|| becomes |2 - 1| which is equal to |1| which is equal to 1.

when x = +/- 3, |2 - |x|| becomes |2 - 3| which is equal to |-1| which is equal to 1.
