I am at a roadblock with this question......Determine the mean and the standard deviation of the folowing frequency distribution
Class Frequency
0 to 5 2
The "classmark" is 2.5
5 up to 10 7
The "classmark" is 7.5
10 up to 15 12
The "classmark" is 12.5
15 up to 20 6
The "classmark" is 17.5
20 up to 25 3
The classmark is 22.5
To find the mean, multiply each classmark by its class frequency.
Then divide by the sum of the frequencies. to get:
mean = 12.66666...
Hopefully you know how to calculate the standard deviation.
standard deviation = 5.331...
Cheers,
Stan H.
