When doing an absolute value, you have to do the positive and the negative
+ +7-%281x%2F2%29=-3+
and
- +-%287-%281x%2F2%29%29=-3+

Lets deal with the positive one first
+7-%281x%2F2%29=-3+
subtract 7
+-1x%2F2+=+-10+
multiply by -2
+x+=+20+

Now the negative
+-%287-%281x%2F2%29%29=-3+
Distribute the neagative
+7+%2B+%281x%2F2%29+=+-3+
subtract 7
+x%2F2+=+-10+
multiply by 2
+x+=+-20+


x = { -20, 20 }
