Question 286532: How do I solve
x+y=1350
$2x+$5y=450

x+y=1350
x=1350-y
$2x+$5y=450
Replace x with (1350-y) in the second equation & solve for y.
2(1350-y)+5y=450
2700-2y+5y=450
3y=450-2700
3y=-2250
y=-2250/3
y=-750 ans.
x-750=1350
x=1350+750
x=2100 ans,
Proof:
2*2100+5*-750=450
4200-3750=450
450=450
