Question 176272: My math question is:
Equations of two absolute value functions are y=|x+20|+5 and y=|x-11|-2. What is the horizontal translation between the first function and the second function.
Can you please help me?
Answer by Fombitz(32388) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The first function's "vertex" occurs at x=-20.
The second function's "vertex" occurs at x=11.
The difference in x would be the horizontal translation.
The horizontal translation is 31 units.
