First you will distribute the 3 on the right side of the equation;

Now multiply each side by 2;

6v=3v-6
Now subtract 3v on both sides;
6v-3v=3v-6-3v
3v=-6
Now divide each side by 3;
3v%2F3=-6%2F3
v=-2
