Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
what would |x+5|=3 look like on a number line?
x+5 = 3 or x+5 = -3
x = -2 or x = -8
--------------------
Draw a number line. Plot the points x=-2 and x= -8
Put a solid dot at those two points. That is the graph
of the soluiton.
-----------------------
And what would |x-2|<3 look like on a number line as well?
-3 < x-2 <3
Add two along the line to get:
-1 < x < 5
-----------
Draw a number line. Plot the points x = -1 and x = 5
Draw an open circle around both os those points.
Draw a solid line segment between the two points.
That is the graph you want.
