Part (A).  ANSWER.  Marianna Trench is deeper.

           To answer this question, you even should not look on the numbers.

           The problem just said that "The Mariana Trench . . . is the world’s deepest oceanic trench"

           Since Mariana Trench is the world's deepest, it automatically means that 
           it is deeper than U.S.S. Johnston shipwreck.


           If you still are not convinced, you may compare the given levels, in feet.



Part (B).  The term "the distance between", due to the meaning of this term, always means 
           a positive value; so, we discard negative options c) and d) momentarily.

           To choose correctly between e) and f), subtract 21180 from 36037.
