Question 120694: help... need to solve and check solution ... confused a little by fraction.
1/3|4p - 11| = p + 4

Answer by rapaljer(4671)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Given:
1/3|4p - 11| = p + 4

Multiply both sides by 3:
|4p - 11| = 3(p + 4)
|4p-11| = 3p + 12

Two solutions to investigate:
4p-11 = 3p + 12
p=33

4p-11 = -3p-12
7p = -1
p=-1/7

Both solutions check!!
