Question 237397: trying to solve y=-/x+4/.
seems to be linear when i graph it and am expecting it to "V".
I also did the positive equation for homework: y=/x+4/
this DID have a "V" graph result.
Shouldnt the negative absolute be a mirror of it???

Question 234370: I am starting college again and this is a practice question on a review and I can't even remember where to begin with this. If Sally can paint a house in 4 hours, and John can paint the same house in 6 hour, how long will it take for both of them to paint the house together?
It does have multiple choice and they are.
A. 2 hours and 24 minutes
B. 3 hours and 12 minutes
C. 3 hours and 44 minutes
D. 4 hours and 10 minutes
E. 4 hours and 33 minutes

Question 230504: Hi, how would i solve the absoulte value of -9+v over 8= 3? I thought i would make v=72, then i thought i would use the common denominator of 8, but the answer is coming our correctly. Please explain because I have other problems like this one. Thank You

Question 229965: My 7th grade brother homework sheet had this problem on it. I can not seem to figure it out because it does not seem to make sense to me at all.
Which expression shows "the absolute value of the sum of 29 and 6"?
A: [-9] + [6]
B: -[9] + [6]
C: -[9+6]
D: [-9+6]
I had to use [ as absolute value because I could not figure out to do an absolute value symblom.
