Question 282891: Find the volume of a sphere with a diameter of 5 inch and having a circular hole of 1 inch diameter throughout. use 3.14 for pie and round your answer to the nearest inch.
I know the volume formula of a sphere and all that. I'm not very sure about the problem especially when it says "circular holes of 1 inch diameter throughout". Can you please explain?

So it has 20,412 square inches, I think. Or 756 cubic inches.
I just can't figure it out.
How do I know how many gallons to a square inch? or cubic inch?

Question 284599: Mary can turn off her car alarm from up to 15 yards away. Will she be able to do it from the far corner of a 15-yard by 12-yard parking lot if her car is parked in the diagonally opposite corner from where she is standing? i know that you can't do the problem, but how can you not solve it?

I am having a tanker brought out and need to know how much they need to bring because they charge by the gallon to bring it out.
