For just ONE single can we calculate
Area of bottom = pi*r^2 = pi*4^2 = 16pi
Lateral Area = 2pi*r*h = 2pi*4*14 = 112pi
Total external area = (area of bottom) + (lateral area) = 16pi + 112pi = 128pi square meters

There are 500 cans, so the total external area is 500*128pi = 64,000pi square meters
64,000pi = 64,000*3.14 = 200,960 (this is approximate)
So we need to paint approximately 200,960 square meters of metal.
