Answer by ikleyn(52786)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

The volume of the tank is   0.8 m x 0.8 m x 2.4 m = 1.536 (cubic meters).
Since the water occupies initially only half of this volume,  the volume of water is    = 0.768 ,  or  768  liters
(reminder:   1 liter = 1 cubic decimeter = 0.001 ).

To answer the problem's question,  you need to divide this value by  12:    = 64.

Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Volume is 0.8m*0.8m*2.4m=1.536 m^3
1.536 m^3* 100 cm/m *100cm/m*100cm/m=1.536 x 10^6 cm^3.
The can is 12 liters or 12,000 cc or 1.2 X10^4 cm^3/can
divide the top by the bottom and get 1.28 * 10^2 cans or 128 cans.
