Volume of the larger cube =(1/2)^3=1/8 cubic units
Volume of the small cubes=(1/4)^3=1/64 cubic units
Number of cubes=Volume of larger cube/Volume of small cubes
Number of cubes=(1/8)/(1/64)=64/8=8 cubes
