Question 964399: A rectangular tank whose length and breadth are 2.5m and 1.5 m respectively is half full of water. If 750 litre
more water is poured into the tank, what is the height through which water level further goes up?
Answer by addingup(3677) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The volume of the tank is given by the formula:
volume= length times breadth times height, or for short:
V= lbh Let's divide both sides by lb:
V/lb= h Now we can plug in the numbers:
750/(2.5*1.5)= h
750/3.75= h
h= 200
Check your numbers. 1.5 x 2.5 is a very small area for a tank with 750 x 2= 1500 liters. Is it 15 x 25? Or is the water poured into the tank 750ml (0.750liters)?
