Question 936019: a cylindrical conainer has a diameter of 14 inches and height of 6 inches since one gallon equals 231 cubie inches the capacity of thetank is approximately
Answer by srinivas.g(540) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
diamter (d) = 14 inches
radius (r) = d/2 = 14/2 = 7 inches
height (h)= 6 inches
capacity of the tank = volume of the tank
volume of cylinder (tank) = pi*r^2*h
capacity of the tank (V) = pi*7^2*6
(pi=22/7 = 3.14)
V= 924 cubic inches'
one gallon equals 231 cubie inches
hence capacity of tank in gallons = 924/231
=4
Result : Capacity = 4 gallons
