Question 913860: Hi,
Can you help with the following;
The volume of a cylinder is given by V=TTr2h, where r is the radius & h is the hight.Given that the diameter = the hight show that the volume can be written as V= ah3. Taking TT = 3.14 find the value of 'a' correct to two decimal places.
N.B TT is used as pie.
Thanking You
Ellen

The volume of a cylinder is given by V=TTr2h, where r is the radius & h is the hight.Given that the diameter = the hight show that the volume can be written as V= ah3. Taking TT = 3.14 find the value of 'a' correct to two decimal places.
N.B TT is used as pie.
================
It's the Greek letter pi, not the dessert, pie.
Use pi for pi.
-----
The volume of a cylinder is given by V=pi*r^2h, where r is the radius & h is the hight [sic]. {{It's height}} Given that the diameter = the hight show that the volume can be written as V= ah3. Taking pi = 3.14 find the value of 'a' correct to two decimal places.
----------
Use ^ (Shift 6) for exponents.
--------------
The volume of a cylinder is given by V=pi*r^2h
d = 2r = h
r = h/2
--> V = pi*(h/2)^2*h = pi*h^3/2
a = pi/2
V = 2pi*r^3
