Question 872352: What is the volume of a cylinder plus a half a sphere if the radius is 50 centimeters and the total height is 150 centimeters?
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The height of cylinder = total height - height of sphere ( ie radius
Volume of cylinder = pi* r^2 h
Radius = 50 cm
Height 100 cm
V= 3.14 * 50 * 50 * 100
V= 785500.00 cu. cm
V sphere = (4/3) pi r^3
V hemisphere = (2/3) pi r^3
=(2/3) *pi*(50)^3
=261799.38cu. cm
add up both volumes
we get
1047299.38 cm^3
