Question 810911: A manufacturing company needs to find short term storage for some cylindrical containers. The
company wants to do this at minimum expense. Therefore, the job is to them in using a little storage space as possible. The containers are right circular cylinders with a radius of one foot and height three feet. All 175 containers must be stored in an upright position. Storage is required for two months.
Storage units are available for rent in three sizes:
11 feet x 11 feet for $67 per month
11 feet x 22 feet for $105 per month
11 feet x 33 feet for $130 per month
All units are 10 feet high.
What is the least expensive way to store the containers?

radius of one foot means diameter of 2 feet
2*2*3= 12 cubic feet volume of container and surrounding space
175*12=2100 cubic feet
11*11*10 1210 cubic feet with 10*10*9=900 usable cubic feet
11*22*10 1210 cubic feet 2420 cubic feet bot only 10*22*9=1980 usable cubic feet
11*33*10 1210 cubic feet with 10*33*9=2970 usable cubic feet
the largest is too big and the others are too small
getting a small and medium costs more than one large
so one large for for two months
