Question 785365:
A sample of water and a sample of vinegar have the same volume. If the density of water is 1.0 g/mL and the density of vinegar is 0.75 g/mL, what is the mass of the vinegar sample if the mass of the water sample is 45.5 g?
Please solve to the correct number of significant figures. Please exclude units in your answer.

Your problem description is wrong. The density of water is as you say, 1.0 g/mL, but vinegar has density of nearly 1.0 g/mL, and acetic acid 1.049 g/mL. Some data sources indicate density as low as about 0.96 g/mL for vinegar, but your 0.75 value is unreasonable.
