The prototype is given in mixed units. Convert all that quantity into meters, and then work the question entirely in meters.

1 foot = 12 inches
1 inch = 2.54 centimeters
100 centimeters = 1 meter

Keep those in understanding the conversion arrangement:
-------------understanding this expression is necessary.

Now with that, take one prototype length from the given rod stock, and then use division (or successive subtraction) to find how many of the prototype lengths are still in the rod.

5m = 16.4 feet
steel rod stock left = 16.4 - 7.6 = 8.8 feet
8.8 feet = 2.7 meters
