the formula for calculating the volume of a cone is V = 1/3 x pi x r^2 x h
2 x r^2 x 3.14 x 1/3 = 1400
we are going to take from both sides of the equation when we do this until we are left with only r^2
lets get rid of the 1/3 on both sides of the equation, 1/3 equates to .33 sooo
2 x r^2 x 3.14 = 462
lets get rid of the 2 by dividing both sides by 2
r^2 x 3.14 = 231
lets get rid of 3.14 by dividing both sides by 3.14
r^2 = 73.56687898
lets find the square root of 73.56687898, which is 8.577113674
r = 8.577113674
hope this helps :)

So

Just plug in your numbers and do the arithmetic. Remember to convert units so that all measurements are in like units. Example: 2 cm = 20 mm. Leave the answer in terms of for an exact answer, or pick an appropriate approximation of . 3.14 should work since, if you are approximating, you need to round off to the nearest 10 mm since your least precise given measurement was in whole centimeters.
