Question 775880: The shape of the model of the cone is constructed by using a hemisphere and a cone. The total height of the model is 140cm and the radius of the cone is 40cm. That is the volume of the model?
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
volume of hemisphere + volume of cone = total volume
volume of hemisphere = 2/3 pi*r^3
r=40
V= 2/3 * 3.14*40^3
=133973.33 cm^3
Volume of cne = 1/3 * pi * r^2*h
h 140-40 =100
V=1/3 * 3.14*40^2*100
=167466.67 cm^3
Add up
we get 301440 cm^3
