Question 76333: A cylindrical tank with diameter 60cm and length 150cm rests on its side.
The fluid in the tank leaks from a valve that is 20cm off the ground. When
no more fluid leaks out , what is the volume of the remaining fluid?
Answer by zerosignal(28) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1.) Find total volume of the tank:
d=diameter of tank, h=length of tank
2.) Find out the remaining fluid volume in the tank after it leaks out:
If the tank diameter is 60 cm, and the valve is 20 cm off the ground, then the volume can be expressed as a fraction.
=
Therefore, of the total fluid volume will remain in the tank;
so, total_volume * 1/3 = remaining_volume
