Question 762199: A rectangular tank with a base area of 700cm2 is filled with 5.95liters of water.
a)What is the height of the water level?
b)How much more water is needed to fill the tank completely?
Working and explanation.
Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Volume = length * breadth * height
5.95 litres = 5950 cm^3
5950 = (length * breadth) * height
5950 = 700cm^2 * h
h = 5950/700
h = 8.5cm
If we assume the correct height of the tank = 10cm
then amount of liquid to fill it would be 700 * 10
= 7000cm^3
So, 7000 - 5950 = 1050cm^3 = 1.05 litres.
Hope this helps.
