4 spheres and 5 cubes weigh 48g
What are the weights of one sphere and one cube?
Answer by Cromlix(4381)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
 Sphere = x
Cube = y
5x + 4y = 51...1
4x + 5y = 48...2
Multiply (1) by 5 and (2) by 4
25x + 20y = 255...3
16x + 20y = 192...4
Subtract (4) from (3)
 9x       = 63
  x       = 7
Substitute x = 7 into Eq (1)
 5x + 4y = 51
5(7) + 4y = 51
 35  + 4y = 51
       4y = 51 - 35
       4y = 16
        y = 4
Spheres weigh 7g
Cubes weigh   4g
hope this helps
:-)
