first you need to know the circumference of the ends
2 pi r
2 * pi * 1/2 diameter (2) = 12.57 to 2 dp
now multiply it by the height of the cylinder 20cm = 251.33 to 2 dp.
now we eed to add to this 2 * the area of the circluar ends. this is pi * r^2
so pi * 2^2 = 12.57
*2 = 25.13
so total surface area is 12.57 + 251.33 = 276.46 cm ^2 to 2 dp
