Question 751330: The diameter of a water tower tank is 12ft , and its height is 14ft . What is the volume of water that can be stored in the tank?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
V = pi*r^2*h
V = pi*6^2*h ... r = d/2 = 12/2 = 6
V = pi*6^2*14
V = pi*36*14
V = pi*504
V = 504pi <--- Exact Volume in terms of pi
V = 504(3.14)
V = 1582.56 <--- Approximate volume (using pi = 3.14 roughly)
Note: answer is in cubic feet
