Question 609758: What is the volume in cubic yards of an aquarium that measures 4ft by 2ft by 5ft?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1 yard = 3 feet
1^3 cubic yard = 3^3 cubic feet
1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet
-------------------------------------------------------
Volume:
V = LWH
V = 4*2*5
V = 40 cubic feet
V = (40 cubic feet)*(1 cubic yard/27 cubic feet) = (40/27) cubic yards = 1.481 cubic yards
So the volume is roughly 1.481 cubic yards.
