W = (x-3)
L = (x+1)
H = 6

We could write like this
6*(x-3)*(x+1) = 72
divide both sides by 6
(x-3)(x+1) = 72/6
(x-3)(x+1) = 12
FOIL
x^2 + x - 3x - 3 = 12
Arrange as a quadratic equation
x^2 - 2x - 3 - 12 = 0
x^2 - 2x - 15 = 0
Factors to
(x+3)(x-5) = 0
Th positive solution is what we want here
x = 5
then
Width: 5-3 = 2 ft
Length: 5+1 = 6 ft
