Since the area of the base is 100 sq in. this means that the side length of the base is inches. So the area of each triangular face is square inches.

Surface Area of Pyramid = Area of base + 4*Area of Triangular Face


Surface Area of Pyramid = 100 + 4*50


Surface Area of Pyramid = 100 + 200


Surface Area of Pyramid = 300 square inches
