Vol = 30*pi =~ 98.4 cubic inches

The density of sand is ~ 3 gm/cc
98 cubic in = 98*2.54^2 cc = 1606 cc
3*1606 =~ 4800 grams = 4.8 kg
=~ 10.56 pounds

The density of sand varies, might be 10% less or more
