Question 482698: If I have a glass jar that is 6.25inches high x 1 inch diameter. how many ounces fit in the jar?

Answer by cleomenius(959)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First, find the volume for your jar, which I take to be a right circular cylinder,
V = pir^2 *h
pi (.5)^2 * 6.25 = 4.9 inches cubed.
Now converting to ounces, I looked on the Internet and found this conversion formula of 1 cubic inch = 0.554 ounces.
4.9 * 0.554 = 2.715 ounces.
