Question 419307: A diagram shows two similar cylinders. The radius of the smaller cylinder is half the raduis of the larger cylinder. The volume of the smaller cylinder is 200cm cubed. Find the volume of the larger cylinder.
I know the formula for a cylinder is pie radius squared times height and i am almost certain a scale factor is involed - Iam just not sure in how to solve this problem. Many Thanks.

A diagram shows two similar cylinders. The radius of the smaller cylinder is half the raduis of the larger cylinder. The volume of the smaller cylinder is 200cm cubed. Find the volume of the larger cylinder.
-------------
If the heights are the same, the larger cylinder is 4x the volume = 800 cc

Volume is a function of the square of the radius.
PS It's pi, the Greek letter, not pie, the dessert.
