"the base of a rectangular tank is 6 feet by 5 feet and its height is 16 inches. Find the number of cubic feet of water in the tank when it is 3/4 full.
(i tried change the 16 inches to feet but totally got lost and have no idea of the volume formula, which made me ask for help)

the volume is the length , width , and height multiplied together ___ V = L x W x H

the measurement units must be the same for all three dimensions (as you realized)

3/4 full means the height (depth) is 3/4 of 16 inches
___ 1/4 of 16 is 4 , so 3/4 would be 12
___ 12 inches is a foot

so the cubic feet of water would be ___ V = 6 x 5 x 1
