Since the base is an equilateral triangle, we find its area via the formula
and with the side being 4 inches, the base area is
A = 4^2 * sqrt(3) /4 = 4 * sqrt(3)
and the volume is
V = (1/3)(4*sqrt(3)(3) = 4*sqrt(3)
