The SURFACE AREA of a cylinder consists of the lateral (side) area plus two end pieces (circles!).

Lateral Area = Distance around the circle (i.e., circumference) * Height
Lateral Area = * height.
Lateral Area =

Circular Base = , where radius = 5 feet.
Circular Base =

Total Area = square feet.

Total Cost = Total Area * $5 = $ or approximately $2041.
