Question 282891: Find the volume of a sphere with a diameter of 5 inch and having a circular hole of 1 inch diameter throughout. use 3.14 for pie and round your answer to the nearest inch.
I know the volume formula of a sphere and all that. I'm not very sure about the problem especially when it says "circular holes of 1 inch diameter throughout". Can you please explain?
Thanks!

V=4/3*pi*r^3

Volume = Volume of Big Sphere - Volume of Little Sphere = 4/3*3.14*5^3-4/3*3.14*1^3 = 519.1467

Answer: 519.1467 cubic inches
