Find the perimeter and area of a right triangle if one leg measures 11 yd. and the other leg measures 60 yd.
Let x be the length of the hypotenuse. By the Pythagoream Theorem we have:
11^2 + 60^2 = X^2
x^2 = 3600 + 121
x^2 = 3721
x = sqrt(3721)
x = 61
The perimeter of the triangle is 11 + 60 + 61 = ?
The area of the triangle is (1/2)*60*11 = ?
