Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A=2PIRH+2PIR^2
282.6=2*3.14*3*H+2*3.14*3^2
282.6=18.84H+56.52
282.6-56.52=18.84H
226.08=18.84H
H=226.08/18.84
H=12 INCHES IS THE HEIGHT.

Answer by richwmiller(17219)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A=2*pi*r*h
if the surface area does not include the ends of the cylinder
282.6=2*pi*3*h
