Question 212944: A block of wood is 4 cm wide, 5 cm long, and 10 cm high it weighs 100 grams. Calculate it's density?

Will the wood sink or float in water?

Answer by Earlsdon(6294)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Find the volume of the block:

Cu.cm
Density = Weight/Volume.
Density = 100 gm/200cu .cm
Density = 0.5gm/cu.cm
Density of water = 1gm/cu.cm
Since the density of the block of wood is less than that of water, the block of wood will float.
