Multiply what's inside the brackets
23 - .046x + .0715x = 25
:

.
.046 * 500 - .046 *x + .0715 *x = .05 * 500
.
23 - .046x +.0715 x = 25
.
subtract 23 both sides

0 -.046x + .0715x =25 -23 =2
.
.0255 x =2,,,,divide thru by .0255
.
