Question 168702: the dimensions of a brick are 2 cm * 5 cm * 5 cm. how many of these bricks are needed to have a total volume of exactly 1 cubic meter?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1 cubic meter = 100 cm * 100 cm * 100 cm = 1,000,000 cubic cm
Volume of 1 brick: 2 cm * 5 cm * 5 cm = 50 cubic cm
Now simply divide 1,000,000 cubic cm (the total volume) by 50 cubic cm (the volume of one brick) to get
So you need 20,000 bricks to get a cubic meter
