The internal dimension of an open wooden rectangular box are 3.2m by 2.2m by 1.5m.If the wood has a thickness of 0.2m find volume of wood used
volume of wood used = External volume of box - internal volume
Internal
l=3.2 m
h= 1.5 m
w=2.2 m
Thickness of wood on either sides is 0.2 m
Add 0.4 to internal dimensions
l=3.2 m +0.4m = 3.6 m
h= 1.5 m +0.2= 1.7m
w=2.2 m+0.4 = 2.6m
Volume of wood = (3.6*1.7*2.6) - (3.2*1.5*2.2)
= 5.35 ft^3
