Question 1122166: The owner of an ice cream shop is trying to set a price for a small size cone. The cone itself is 3˝ inches tall and has a diameter of 2 inches, topped by a sphere with a diameter of 3 inches. A 3-gallon tub of ice cream is a cylinder that is 11 inches tall and has a diameter of 10 inches, and costs $28. If the cost of the ice cream should be 30% of the price, how much should he charge for the small size cone?

The problem is not described adequately.

Does the ice cream fill the full cone AND the full 3-inch sphere?

If so, then the 3-inch sphere sits on top of the full cone and touches the cone in a single point; that's not a very secure arrangement.

Re-post with a more precise description of the problem.
