Question 1075606: A cylinder has a volume of 46 cubic inches. If all the dimensions are multiplied by 2.5, what would be the volume of the new cylinder?
Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
V (cylinder)=pi*r^2*h
If the dimensions are multiplied by 2.5, the volume will be increased by 2.5^3=15.625 and the new volume will be 718.75
Check
46=pi*r^2*h, Let r=3
46=9*pi*h
h=46/9*pi=1.63
new dimensions, r=7.5
h=4.067
V=pi*(7.5^2)*4.067=718.70 in^3. The same with rounding error. The top is more accurate, because pi was not rounded.
